Wheel Alignment

Wheel alignment is all about angles and adjusting those angles so a car’s wheels are perpendicular to the ground and parallel to each other. These adjustments are critical to the maximization of a vehicle’s tyre life and to insure that the vehicle tracks in a straight line when driven along a straight and level road.

If you release your steering wheel while driving on a straight and level road and your vehicle begins to wander to the left or right, chances are you have an alignment problem. Ignore it and you’ll experience premature tyre wear. If you think you’re out of alignment, either try the steering wheel trick or visually inspect your front tyres. Excessive tread wear on either edge of the tyre probably indicates you’re a candidate for an alignment.

Wheel alignment is often confused with wheel balancing. The two are not connected other than the fact that they both impact ride and handling. If a wheel is out of balance, it will vibrate at highway speeds. That results in a noticeable shaking in the steering wheel or in the seat of your pants.  As a general rule, have your vehicle's tyres checked every 10,000 miles or at least once a year. As noted earlier, if they’re wearing unevenly, that’s a good signal that an alignment should be moved up to the top of your To Do list.

Road Safety & Tyre Safety

Hundreds of people are killed or seriously injured in the Nigeria every year in accidents caused by tyre failure and tyre problems are one of the biggest causes of roadside breakdowns.

Tips to help you arrive safe, click the link Road Safey & Tyre Safety

When did you last check your tyres?

CHECK YOUR TYRE PRESSURE EVERY MONTH

Correct tyre pressure reduces the risk of losing control of your vehicle. It also protects your tyres from premature wear and irreversible damage to the internal construction. Tyre pressure can drop due to small perforations, the natural escape of air through the tyre's components, or even from a decrease in ambient temperatures.

Check the pressure of your tyres, including your spare, monthly and before any long journey, preferably when your tyres are cold (not having run for at least 2 hours or having run for less than 2 miles at low speed). If they are not checked in this cold condition, add 4 to 5 PSI (0.3 bar) to the recommended pressure, but never deflate a hot tyre.  It's important to check the pressure once a month, because:

Under or over inflation can reduce the life of your tyres, affect their performance and increase the risk of damage.Correct tyre pressure will even save fuel

The recommended tyre pressure can be found:
  • in the user manual of your vehicle
  • or on a label on the door or door frame of the vehicle
  • or on the inside of the fuel flap
NOTE: The recommended tyre pressure is NOT located on the tyre. The inflation pressure shown on the tyre sidewall is the maximum tyre inflation pressure.

KNOW UR TYRE SIZE

Before you request for a quote, you need some 3 vital information written as a sequence of numbers and letters on your tyre sidewall,

Tyre Size: Width in mm (195 in above photo)
Profile (55 in above photo)
Rim Diameter in inches (16 in above photo)

NOTE: it is very important to stick to your car’s original tyre size. In a lot of cases these tyres have been selected specifically for your car because their characteristics complement the performance of the vehicle.
